TOURISM Fiji CEO Dr Paresh Pant has been appointed as chair of the Fiji Development Bank Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA).
Dr Pant replaces the outgoing chair Debra Sadranu who has been pivotal in leading FETA with distinction over the past four years.
In a statement, trustees of the FDB FETA Awards said Ms Sadranu had been exceptional in strengthening the stature and credibility of the awards as Fiji’s premier platform for recognising excellence across the tourism sector during her tenure.
“She was also instrumental in securing the Fiji Development Bank (FDB) as the naming rights sponsor, further enhancing the profile and sustainability of the awards,” FETA stated.
“Sponsors remain central to the continued success of FETA, and Ms Sadranu has expressed her sincere appreciation to all partners whose contributions have helped shape the Awards into the flagship event it is today.”
According to the statement, Ms Sadranu is stepping down to focus on the continued growth of her business, Nama Fiji, including preparations to host the prestigious CIDESCO conference in Fiji later this year.
The trustees said they looked forward to working closely with Dr Pant as FETA continued to celebrate and showcase excellence within Fiji’s tourism industry.
“His appointment reflects a strong commitment to maintaining the integrity, relevance, and impact of these important awards.”
