THE Suva Badminton Club will host a doubles tournament tomorrow at the Yat Sen School hall.
The two-day competition will begin tomorrow and finishes on Sunday.
Fiji Badminton vice-president Alvin De Asa said they were looking forward for the event.
“This tournament is being organised by the Suva Badminton Club and is sanctioned by Fiji Badminton,” he said.
“The tournament was organised to keep the momentum going from where the nationals left off last month, with the hope of keeping the players in form as the next tournament by Fiji Badminton will be at the end of the school term which is the junior nationals.”
He said the tournament would be sponsored by Courts Fiji Ltd and Janty Kanvan Ltd
“Since this is a doubles tournament, we will be having an open grade doubles, men’s and women’s B grade doubles and an open grade mixed doubles,” he added.
“Unfortunately, our national men’s doubles champion won’t be participating as they are currently away overseas training.
“So this will leave the door open for our junior men’s doubles champions Liam Fong and Martin Feussner and the national women’s champions Andra and Karyn Whiteside.”
