THE People’s Alliance party general secretary, Sakiasi Ditoka, has apologised to the FijiFirst party for a social media post by PA youth president Soko Veilawa and Ratu Gavidi Cakobau making indecent hand gestures in front of the FijiFirst’s Brown St headquarters in Suva.

He said Mr Veilawa and Ratu Gavidi’s actions do not represent the views of the PA.

“The party apologises to the leadership and all the members of the FijiFirst party for this uncalled behaviour,” Mr Ditoka said yesterday in response to queries from The Fiji Times.

“This behaviour does not represent the views of The People’s Alliance.

“The People’s Alliance respects all members of the public as well as their sacred democratic right to join the political party of their choice and to express their opinions freely.

“The People’s Alliance also maintains its views that there is no need for any enmity against anyone in our relations with all parties and the general public, no matter how different our ideologies might appear to be.

We will have a quiet word with our youth president and request of him to direct his and the members of our youth’s zeal towards helping to repair relations that may have been hurt in the heat of political campaigns.”
