The reinstatement of ousted education minister Aseri Radrodro is entirely up to the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, says former secretary general to Parliament Mary Chapman.

And she stressed that the Prime Minister didn’t have to work within a time frame to attend to the request of reinstatement.

“There is no time frame and it’s all up to the PM as he had said that he’ll wait for the MB decision of SODELPA and then makes up his mind,” she said.

“Nothing like this happened during my time, although the late Taufa Vakatale had stood down over a decision not in line with the Government at the time.

“So did Parmanandam (former parliamentarian) and he crossed the floor which allowed him to do that under the 1970 constitution.”

Ms Vakatale had served as education minister in the Soqosoqo Vakavulewa ni iTaukei government also led by Mr Rabuka in his first term as PM.
