AFTER capturing the Australasian Welterweight title in Australia back on June 6 this year, Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana is looking to better his championship performance in his upcoming fight at the upcoming Zeg Boxing Promotion Program in November.
As one of the main supporting bouts of the program the Buca Bay Prince will take on India’s Ankit – another promising boxing talent from India ready to stamp his name in Fiji’s professional boxing scene.
Recalling his historic achievement in Australia the “Buca Bay Prince” said wining the Australasian tile was a massive experience in his boxing career.
“Coming into this fight we are brining in a positive mindset, and we’ve made a lot of changes during our preparation,” he said.
“We’ve learnt a lot from that fight in Australia and we hoping to bring a different class in this fight.”
Stepping up his game for this promotion Daunivavana has added a weapon to his boxing arsenal which he looks forward to using come November.
“I’ve changed my fighting style a bit. We’ve added head movement it’s something we are not used to, but we are adapting it quickly and I can’t wait to step into the ring and show what how much I have prepared,” he said.
As the most active professional fighter from Vanua Levu the Buca Bay Price is calling on his northern supporters to rally behind him and his team at the Vodafone Arena in Suva on November 7.
