Cricket Fiji prepares for PICC23

Fiji has selected their squad for the Pacific Island Cricket Challenge 2023 (PICC23).

Chief executive officer Sitiveni Rokoro said Cricket Fiji would co-host the inaugural Pacific Island Cricket Challenge 2023 with the Australian Defence Force Cricket from March 6–18.

“Five men and five women’s teams will participate in this one-week tournament,” he said.

“Participating countries are Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Vanuatu, Fiji and a combined ANZAC team (Australian and New Zealand Defence Force).

“The men’s and women’s tournaments will be played side-by-side, with teams playing four games each, culminating in a final series and gala grand-final to decide respective men’s and women’s PICC23 Champions.

“All matches will be played at Albert Park, Suva and will be live-streamed to participating countries.

“Today (on Saturday) saw the culmination of the three days trials for the selection of the national men’s team and the final of the 8 weeks Suva Women’s League.

The national men and women’s teams were announced today by the Chairman of the Cricket Fiji Board, Ratu Meli Saubulinayau.
