The exquisite Rara Lounge within the Grand Pacific Hotel was transformed into an immersive creative space on Friday, April 26. Being the 4th edition in the Art, Sip and Savor monthly series hosted by the Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, the artistic highlight of the evening was crafting a traditional head garland with Fijian flora voivoi (pandanus leaves) and danidani (croton leaves).

Peter Sipeli, renowned local artist, under his entrepreneurial venture, Guided Walking Tours Fiji, has been working closely with heritage artisans in curating the diverse artistic monthly experiences.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a first-time creator, the artisans guide you step-by-step, ensuring that you curate a handcrafted memento as a special keepsake.

Whilst indulging in the creative session, Lawhill Wines invites you every month to an exclusive wine tasting experience.

Delve into the world of wines as you savour exquisite flavours whilst immersing in the joy of community crafting.

You can also get discounts on wines if you fill out the Lawhill Wines order form at the event.

This month featured the Baron d’ Arignac red and white blends from the IGP Aude region in France and well paired with the cheese board combinations.

The red blend with its fresh aroma notes of raspberry and blackberry was perfect for the palate. Highly recommended.

The Art, Sip and Savor event which was introduced by the Grand Pacific Hotel repeats last Friday of every month at the Rara Lounge.

The $99 per adult fee per session includes supplies, free-flow wine, shared cheeseboard and canapes resulting in the perfect combination to complement your evening of artistic expression.

Each session commences at 6pm allowing two hours of immersion in varied art forms whilst savouring delightful wines and canapes.

The month of March was dedicated towards creating own Masi masterpiece whilst the earlier two months were dedicated towards weaving art.

The curated experience allows you to engage in deep rooted conversations with the heritage artisans which makes you appreciate the tales and the history behind the art forms which is usually passed on from generation to generation.

Crafting new connections is also part of the entire experience.

The A Connection was invited by the Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, as a collaborator for the event which resulted in the forging of new connections.

The creative space allows you the perfect opportunity to reconnect with your artistic soul whilst being part of a community of like-minded individuals, all passionate about art just like you.
