The Ministry of Education confirmed this in a statement this afternoon citing the decision was out of concern for the health and wellbeing of the nation’s students in light of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.

Classes are expected to resume from June 16, 2020.

In the statement, the ministry has also advised that private schools and daycares should remain closed for this period.

It stated that any further extension on school closure by the ministry would also be applicable to the private schools and daycare centres.

Parents are advised to contact the respective heads of schools for additional resource materials.
