Fiji’s Ministry of Health and Medical Services has recorded 21 new cases of COVID-19.
Ministry of Health and Medical Services permanent secretary Dr James Fong said 12 of those new cases were recorded on April 26, and nine recorded on April 27.
He said of those 21 new cases, 12 were recorded in the Central Division, eight recorded in the Western Division and one case was recorded in the Northern Division.
And in the seven days until April 27, he said 19 new cases were recorded in the Central Division, 26 new cases in the Western Division, and two new cases in the North.
Dr Fong said the Central Division cases constituted 68 per cent of the cumulative total cases nationally, with the Western division making up 27 per cent, 3 per cent in the Northern Division, and 2 per cent in the Eastern Division.
Fiji has recorded 64,634 cases of COVID-19 since the first wave in March 2020, and a total of 62,763 recoveries.
There have been 862 deaths recorded in total.
