The 27th VONU Pro-Am Golf Tournament tees off today at the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club, bringing together some of Fiji’s top golfers, business leaders and invited guests for one of the country’s longest-running sporting events.

The two-day tournament, which runs from May 29 to 30, is expected to attract around 100 participants competing in both the Professional and Amateur divisions.

Professional golfers will battle for a total prize purse of $10,000, promising exciting competition on the course as players aim to claim one of Fiji’s prestigious golf titles.

Tournament organisers say the annual event has become a major fixture on both the sporting and corporate calendar, combining competitive golf with networking opportunities and hospitality.

Vonu Lager continues its long-standing support of the tournament, highlighting the brand’s commitment to supporting local sporting events and experiences that bring people together.

Head of Marketing Alcohol at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji, Etrina Simpson, said the tournament continued to create value beyond the game itself.

“We have proudly supported the VONU Pro Am Golf Tournament for over a decade and it remains a great platform to connect with our partners and the wider community.

“The tournament brings people together in a natural way. It gives people the chance to build relationships, have real conversations and enjoy the moment. Whether on the course or sharing an ice cold Vonu Lager or Vonu Ultra Low Carb, the experience reflects the brand and the lifestyle it represents.”

Tournament organiser Amitesh Chandra said reaching the 27th edition was a significant milestone for the event.

“Reaching 27 years is something we are very proud of and it would not be possible without partners like Vonu who have shown real commitment over time.

“Their support allows us to maintain high standards, invest in the experience and continue to improve each year.

“We are grateful for that partnership and for the role it plays in bringing together players, sponsors and the wider community.”

Participants will also receive a VONU player pack containing a branded T-shirt, visor, golf ball marker and key tag.

The tournament is widely known for blending competitive golf with a strong social atmosphere, creating an event that celebrates sport, business and lifestyle together.
