IN celebration of Olympic Day worldwide, FASANOC will host its annual Olympic Day celebrations on Saturday, June 27, with this year’s program featuring a vibrant ‘Come & Try’ Sports Fair aimed at promoting active lifestyles, inclusion and the Olympic values of friendship, excellence and respect.
The celebrations will take place simultaneously in two locations, the CAAF Grounds in Nadi and Albert Park in Suva.
Olympic Day is celebrated globally each year to encourage people of all ages and abilities to move, learn and discover new sports while embracing the values of the Olympic Movement.
Participants will have the opportunity to experience a variety of sports firsthand, interact with national athletes and learn more about the role sport plays in building healthier and more connected communities.
With the theme “Let’s Move”, FASANOC hopes the event will inspire more people to get involved in sport and physical activity while also strengthening community participation and support for local sporting development across Fiji.
Following the success of previous Olympic Day celebrations, this year’s event is expected to attract strong participation from sporting organisations, youth groups and families as Fiji joins the rest of the world in celebrating the power of sport to unite and inspire.
