FOR Coastal Falcons rugby league team coach Toby Viravu, securing contracts for his players is the main and sole priority of the team.

The team was yesterday putting in the final touches at the Suva Grammar School grounds in Suva before they depart for Australia early next month.

“Not everyone will get a professional rugby contract immediately,” Viravu said.

“My sole aim is to get these players overseas where they can secure contracts and in turn support their families back home.”

The Falcons rugby league team is made up of unemployed youths from various rugby league clubs around the country.

“They are after a stable future and hopefully even with a semi-professional contract we can achieve that.”

The Falcons will have a two-match tour to Queensland, Australia against Brisbane Broncos feeder club the Central Queensland Capras and Canberra Raiders feeder club the Goulburn Weepers Bulldogs rugby league club.

Viravu said he was optimistic that most if not all his players would not return home empty-handed.
