FORMER Fiji Bati captain Petero Civoniceva will be working closely with the newly elected Fiji National Rugby League board to take the sport to the next level.
Civoniceva said it was the opportune time with the new board members to grow the game.
“It is a very exciting time for the rugby league to have new board members,” he said.
“Some board members have expressed their interest in growing the junior and grassroots development and creating pathways for the local players in the sport.
“Hopefully by the next generation of school boys they would be able to represent Fiji Bati in future.”
“I know I will be working closely with the FNRL board to see the sport develop,” he added.
“I am also the head of the Fiji and New South Wales Cup rugby league bid. We are working on that as well and hopefully we can become a part of the New South Wales Cup competition in 2017.”
