Police were yesterday investigating the death of a two-year-old who died after drowning in a resort swimming pool in Sigatoka.
The child is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim.
“The child was allegedly left unattended in the compound of a resort in Sigatoka when the incident took place,” read a statement from the Fiji Police Force.
“She was found motionless in a swimming pool.
“Investigations continue and investigators will be looking into the element of negligence.”
The national drowning toll stands at 11 compared with 16 for the same period last year.
