JOSHUA Fox is slowly relishing his dream of becoming a professional basketball player in the NBA (National Basketball Association). The NBA is the pre-eminent men’s professional basketball league in North America, and is widely considered to be the premier men’s professional basketball league in the world. World’s great basketball player of all time Michael Jordan played in this top level competition.
Now plying his trade in the United States, Josh as he is commonly known, in this segment shares his personal life and his love for basketball.
The national basketball rep also talks about his family and how they are his pillar of strength in everything he does in life.

Moments in life
What was the happiest period of your life … it’s tough to narrow down. I have lived an extremely happy and blessed life. However, I would have to say that the happiest period in my life is when my family moved from Los Angeles to Daly City. It was a period when my family and I became close and really bonded with one another.
What was the saddest time … was when my grandfather (my mother’s father) passed away. It was sad because we lost a great man and it was hard to see my mother in a sad vulnerable state.
Where is one of your favourite places in the world … It would have to be Fiji. Fiji is home and all my family is there and it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It has everything I could ever want.
Who is your best friend … I have two best friends. The first is my elder brother Conrad. He has been a great brother and friend who has always supported me and pushed me in every endeavor I have pursued. My second best friend is Tyler Petroni. We have been friends for about 12 years and he is basically family to me.
What is something that most people don’t know about you … most people do not know that I love to cook. It has been a guilty pleasure of mine for a long time and I am always trying to learn how to make many dishes.
When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up … I had the dream to be a professional basketball player who would play in the NBA.
What simple pleasure gives you most joy … The simple pleasure that gives me the most joy is to sit on a bench under the sun and just observe everything that is happening around me.
How do you relax …. I relax by laying in my room and watching Netflix. It gives me some me time to catch up on some of my favourite shows and to think about my day.
Describe your perfect day … My perfect day would begin by eating pancakes and bacon with a glass of milk. I would then leave the house to play basketball until lunch time. I would then go get a burger and some fries and relax for an hour or two. Then I would go play more basketball until I could not see the rim. That’s when I would go home and call it a day.
What’s one thing you want to do before you die … I want to visit South Africa and go on a safari.
Are you healthy … I am a healthy person. I try to eat as healthy as possible but I do have my guilty pleasure where I have my fastfood or sweets.
Best meal you ever had …. The best meal I ever had was beef curry made by my uncle. It is my favourite dish and nothing compares.
What was the first song you ever sung as an artist: The first song I ever song was Baby by Justin Bieber.
Most memorable moment in life: My most memorable moment in my life is more of a period of time. This memory is the rehabilitation I had to go through after my ACL surgery. It was a long and difficult process but I use it as a reminder that I can accomplish anything.
Describe yourself: I would describe myself as funny guy who is smart and charming but very athletic.
I am obsessed … I am obsessed with basketball and bacon cheeseburgers.
I am proud … I am proud of my mother who is my biggest role model. She has accomplished many great things and has raised three children successfully as a single parent.
Wish I could change … There is nothing I would change.
Really need to … I really need to go sky diving.
Can’t handle it when … I cannot handle it when someone is on their phone while I am with them.
I look back on my childhood … I look back on my childhood and I smile because it was a long journey to get to where I am today.
I relax by … I relax by eating and watching TV.
I am excited about finding … about finding my future wife.
I have always wanted … I have always wanted a great shepherd for a dog.
Biggest weakness is … My biggest weakness is that I am my biggest critic.
Fridge usually contains … Fridge usually contains milk because I love drinking milk and I always need milk for my cookies.
List of favourite things … Basketball, food, singing, dancing, cooking, and watching plays.
Opinions on state of the world … I wish the world would be more accepting and kind to one another. There is not enough love in the world. People are too caught up in their own agendas and ignore others. We should be helping one another so that we can all live happy lives. I wish there would be more unselfishness.
Mother always told me … Mother always told me that I could. She told me that if I have a dream that I have to go get it and that I had to be confident that I could achieve my dreams.
Friends don’t understand …. my love for Justin Bieber.
My attitude to excise is …. I am not a huge fan of it but there is not much I can do about it.
My relationship with my body is … is a strong one. I know that I need my body to live a full and healthy life so I try to do whatever I can to keep it strong and safe.
