THE Vodafone Gold N Water carnival 2026 officially opened at Garvey Park, Tavua on Saturday, bringing the local community together to champion national unity and resilience.

While officiating at the opening of the week-long carnival, Vodafone business relationship manager Ranjita Singh highlighted the festival’s role in strengthening grassroots development and empowering young leaders.

“This event is a wonderful reflection of the unique unity and sense of belonging within the Tavua community,” she said.

“Seeing the resilience of our people firsthand is always a privilege.”

Ms Singh urged the public to rally behind the contestants as they develop leadership skills and use the carnival platform to advocate for meaningful social issues.

“For Vodafone, this theme goes far beyond connectivity; it represents our commitment to bridging distances and bringing communities closer together,” Ms Singh said.

Ms Singh said Vodafone has spent more than 30 years ensuring that rural communities like Tavua remain connected, describing the network as a vital lifeline during challenging times.
