THE Vodafone Fiji Bulikula are preparing for a tough challenge against Australia as they look to continue their historic Rugby League World Cup campaign and secure a place in the final.
Bulikula vice-captain and fullback Cassie Staples says minimising errors and making the most of every opportunity will be crucial when Fiji takes on the defending powerhouse.
Staples acknowledged the quality of the Australian side, describing them as a tough and talented team.
She said the Bulikula needed to remain disciplined, minimise mistakes and capitalise on opportunities whenever they presented themselves.
With a place in the final at stake, Fiji will need to deliver a composed performance against an Australian side known for its strength and experience.
Bulikula defensive coach Isaac Michael said the team would focus on finishing tough plays and backing their execution as they prepare for the semi-final.
Michael said there were no major injury concerns within the squad, with the coaching staff set to reassess the players before naming a strong team for the encounter.
The coaching group will be looking for the players to maintain their defensive discipline and execute their plans under pressure against Australia.
Fiji will face Australia on Sunday, November 8, at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, with kick-off scheduled for 6.45pm.
