THE Bula Boys have booked their place in the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup final after narrowly edging New Caledonia 2-1 on Wednesday evening at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Fiji went into half time trailing 1-0 but responded strongly to turn the match around. Early into the second half Fiji’s Scott Wara gave the equaliser, scoring Fiji’s first goal in the 50th minute.

The 17-year-old midfielder, Maikah Dau scored Fiji’s next goal in the 66th minute sealing their victory till the end.

The result puts Fiji in the top two alongside defending champions Vanuatu and sets up a final between the two sides on Saturday, October 3 at the HFC Bank Stadium.

The Bula Boys will now have a chance to claim the title on home soil after finishing off last year’s MSG cup in third place.

Fiji opened their 2026 MSG campaign with a three all draw against Solomon Islands, followed by a 1-0 victory against Vanuatu then 2-0 win against PNG.

Fiji will look to carry their confidence from the past results into the final where they will face Vanuatu in the tournament decider.
