GOOD news for the building construction market, last week Roofing and Profiles (Fiji) Ltd officially launched its partnership with Kingspan Insulation, a leading Australian manufacturer of innovative ultra-thin flexible insulation products.
Roofing and Profile (Fiji) Ltd now becomes the sole distributor in Fiji and the Pacific of Kingspan roof and wall insulations.
According to Kingspan Insulation’s website, they have a vast product range and its extensive range of products suitable for a variety of applications including pitched roofs, flat roofs, tapered roofing systems, cavity walls, solid walls, insulated dry lining, timber and steel framing, externally insulated cladding systems, externally insulated render systems, floors, soffits and ductwork in building services applications.
At the launch, Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya said having such an internationally renowned brand in Fiji and the Pacific was recognition of the demand for high quality products in region.
“Kingspan is a global leader in high performance insulation, building fabric, and solar integrated building envelopes,” Mr Koya said.
“Kingspan delivers high efficiency, low cost and low carbon building solutions across a broad range of market sectors. Now that they have joined hands with one of Fiji’s best — Roofing and Profiles (Fiji) Ltd — Kingspan roofing and wall insulations will be distributed throughout Fiji and the Pacific region, ultimately enhancing Fiji’s standing in the regional and global trading arenas.”
Roofing and Profiles (Fiji) Ltd will be distributing three brands of roofing and wall insulation, all of which are manufactured to Australian standards — Kingspan, Air-cell and Kooltherm.
“The availability of such an extensive range of high performance insulations for roofs and walls will make homes and buildings more energy efficient, cut back on health and safety risks due to their durable, fibre-free constitution and offer a host of other benefits that make our homes and buildings safer and more sustainable,” he said.
Kingspan Insulation’s products ensure the reduction of risk of house fires — an increasing cause of heartache for the Fijian people, Mr Koya added.
“Technical assessments have indicated that low quality insulation can facilitate the spread of a house fire. While minimum fire ratings are in place for roof insulation materials, today in the market we still find insulation material not up to code.
“It is of the upmost importance that importers and manufacturers follow the law and maintain the standards established for building materials. Selling or constructing with material not up to fire safety code compromises the safety and livelihoods of ordinary Fijians and will not be tolerated.”
