The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua men’s attitude towards training this week has been world class.

This was according to head coach Mick Byrne as the team prepares to face Moana Pasifika in round 10 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby competition.

Training started on Monday as the players sweat off the memory of the loss against the Hurricanes in Suva last Friday.

“We’ll just continue to train and prepare ourselves as we do. We are obviously working hard; we got a lot of physicality during training. We are not going to be doing anything out of the ordinary in our preparation and I know that the mentality of the players coming in Monday was really focused on training, the quality was world class so that augurs well for Saturday,” the head coach stated.

With the match expected to be a physical one up front, Byrne emphasised on the importance of accuracy.

“We made unforced errors; big learnings and we haven’t done that any other time. I think the big thing for us was we improved in our discipline, and we must continue to do that against Moana.

“We must hold on to the ball, we must be a little bit more accurate in our execution and just hang on to the ball. I think if we can rid of those unforced errors from last week which we didn’t have the week before, it certainly didn’t happen in Lautoka in the wet so, we just must go back to what we do best and we certainly will be challenging Moana and asking them a lot of questions,” Byrne added.

The Drua are hungry for a win after two back-to-back loss and is more determined of contending for a quarter-final spot.

Moana on the other hand is chasing history with their first back-to-back win in the competition having defeated the Reds 17-14 in week 8.

Lautoka is not a new territory for Moana Pasifika and spectators can expect an intense battle of the Pacific at Churchill Park on Saturday at 2.05pm.
