THE Local Government Ministry will work with stakeholders to establish a heritage plan for Nausori next year to reflect on the town’s past.
Local Government Minister Parveen Kumar Bala said Nausori’s history and location had a distinct value and growth that made it an enjoyable place to live.
“Nausori has been growing rapidly in the last few years, resulting in my ministry giving the town special attention to address new challenges to its municipal management,” he said.
“We will directly work with the management of Nausori Town Council to unlock investment potential in 2015.
“A number of key municipal investment projects have been earmarked which shall be unveiled during the coming months to support economic development.”
He made the comments at the Nausori market’s 75th anniversary and Christmas celebrations yesterday. He said the town council had received a good number of expressions of interest to develop the existing market site with the investment value of $30million.
He said the town centre was set to celebrate a new look in 2015 with the opening of the new market and bus stand.
