Two bodies have been discovered with one in the West and the second in Vanua Levu.

And police has requested assistance in identifying the body of the man found floating in waters off the Varale Reef between Lautoka and Naviti island yesterday.

“The victim’s body was found by a group of divers from Lautoka and recovered by officers from WATERPol and Crime Scene Investigators,” the statement said.

“The victim, a male i-taukei, has a tapa design tattoo on his elbow and was wearing a brown t-shirt and navy- blue shorts.”

For the case in Vanua Levu, police confirmed the discovery of a 27-year-old man’s body at the Waisali Hill in Savusavu.

The body was found this morning.

“As investigators gather more information to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death, initial information gathered was that the victim had failed to return home last night after driving his taxi,” police said.

“The victim’s taxi was found abandoned at the Waisali Hill near the water source and a search conducted around the area led to the discovery of the victim’s body further down hill.”

Officers are still at the scene in Savusavu as investigations continue.
