For 15 years, Style Fiji has brought together fashion, creativity, entertainment and philanthropy. This year the celebration expands beyond the runway with the introduction of the Style Fiji Market, an initiative created in partnership with the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort to support Fiji’s small and medium enterprises and champion locally made products.
Taking place on Saturday, November 7, from 8am to 2pm at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, the market will bring together approximately 20 specially invited local vendors for a day dedicated to creativity, entrepreneurship and supporting local business.
There will be no vendor fees.
“We know how hard it is for a small business to carry the cost of a stall, so we took that cost away,” said Style Fiji committee member and fashion designer Samson Lee. “If a maker has something wonderful, the only question should be whether they can bring it, not whether they can afford to.”
By removing the cost of participation, Style Fiji and the Sheraton aim to give small businesses a platform to showcase and sell their products to local and international visitors, connect directly with customers and benefit from being part of the wider Style Fiji experience.
The market will also feature participating Style Fiji designers, allowing members of the public to meet some of the creatives behind the collections and shop their work outside the evening runway environment.
For the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, the initiative is an opportunity to use its platform to support locally made products and the entrepreneurs behind them.
“Supporting local business is part of how we operate as a resort,” said Javed Shameem, market director of sales & distribution – Marriot International Fiji “Our guests are always looking for something authentically Fijian to take home, and the market puts them directly in front of the people who make it. That is a connection a shop display cannot offer.”
Hosting the market at the resort creates an important link between Fiji’s tourism industry and the local creative and SME community.
Supporting local is about more than purchasing a product. Behind every locally made piece is a person, a family, an idea and, often, a small business working hard to grow. The Style Fiji Market aims to celebrate those stories.
Visitors can expect a relaxed daytime experience where they can browse, shop and discover a diverse selection of Fijian brands and products while enjoying the surroundings of Denarau.
The market also makes Style Fiji more accessible to the wider public.
“For 15 years people have come to Style Fiji for the runway,” Lee said. “This year we wanted to open the day up as well, so our small businesses and our designers can meet people face to face, and so more Fijians can be part of it.”
As Style Fiji marks its 15th anniversary, the market represents another step in the event’s evolution, creating a platform not only for fashion and philanthropy but also for local entrepreneurship.
Later that evening, Style Fiji 2026 will transform the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort under the theme “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
But before the runway lights come on, the spotlight will belong to Fiji’s local makers, designers and small businesses.
