Fiji National Rugby League head coach Wise Kativerata was given a hero’s welcome when he re-joined the Fiji Bati Academy side after a lapse of nearly a month in Suva earlier this week. Kativerata was busy with the Bati side in Papua New Guinea as they competed in the Pacific Championship.
“As I made my way to the training ground, a wave of emotions engulfed me when I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the academy family,” Kativerata said.
“It’s moments like these that remind me how incredibly fortunate I am to be part of this extended family.”
Kativerata started the academy this year and has slowly gained a lot of ground in terms of churning out talent from every corner of the country.
“All I can say is, ‘thank you, Jesus,’ for blessing me with this remarkable group of individuals who have become more than just teammates; they are my second family.
“The support, love, and camaraderie I’ve found here are truly a gift, and I’m immensely grateful for it.
“Together, we’ll continue to grow, thrive, and make unforgettable memories both on and off the field.”
