People around Lami and nearby areas will now have better loan services provided after the launch of the ANZ lending branch at the Harbour Point in Lami on Thursday.
The new lending centre will provide assistance to customers with personalised and face-to-face lending services while understanding peoples neeeds and requirements in an increasingly digital banking environment.
ANZ country head Fiji Sohaib Mahmood said the new centre reflected the bank’s long-standing commitment to serving communities through human interaction, despite the rapid growth of digital banking and artificial intelligence.
“The centre has been established to provide customers with tailored lending solutions through one-on-one consultations, recognising that not all financial situations can be addressed through digital applications alone, ” Mr Mahmood said at the launch.
“Not all lending is simple, and not every customer’s situation fits into a standard form,” he said.
He said this centre would allow the opportunity for officers to sit down with customers, understand their needs and develop solutions that work for them.
ANZ Pacific regional executive Sarah Stubbings said the new lending initiative was aimed at helping customers achieve important financial goals, including purchasing homes, financing personal needs, and buying vehicles.
“We’re supporting our customers who want to buy a house, take out a personal loan to support their families, or finance a vehicle,” Ms Stubbings said.
“It’s a different model for us, and we haven’t done something like this in Fiji before,” she said.
The lending centre will operate during normal business hours and welcomes both appointments and walk-in customers seeking lending advice.
