Students and teachers of Lomary Secondary School will now enjoy the use of new additional walkways, renovated ablution blocks and tapped water facilities which are the latest community projects facilitated by BSP Financial Group Ltd.
The project involved the construction of additional walkways, installation of roofing on all walkways, renovation on the ablution blocks, and installation of several tapped water facilities throughout the school.
BSP general manager Retail Ravindra Singh said the project underscored BSP’s commitment to the community and the vanua.
“We are delighted to celebrate the culmination of our collaborative effort with this school and the Ministry of Education to enhance the learning environment for 372 students,” Mr Singh said in a statement.
“The dedication and hard work of our branch staff on this project showcase our commitment to serving and uplifting the communities we are a part of.”
School headboy Tevita Tuiloma said the project had brought joy and smiles to the students and teachers.
School headgirl Sarafina Nayacalevu said they were relieved that students would no longer have to rush through the rain to reach the washrooms.
She advised younger students to always be grateful for this project that would benefit the school in the long term.
Staff from the bank’s Navua and Samabula branches completed and handed over the project to the school earlier this month — part of its extensive corporate social responsibility program
