Education Minister Aseri Radrodro said this to the 217 students at Malamala Public School, Nadi, while opening two new classrooms there this week.
He stressed to the students the importance of education, the need for them to stay focused and to avoid being easily distracted by things such as mobile phones and social media while studying.
Mr Radrodro thanked teachers, parents and guardians for their continued support and urged them to remain committed to the education of their children.
The minister also acknowledged the founder of the school and the commitment of the previous and current management who have seen the school develop over the years.
Malamala Public School has students from early childhood education to Year 8.
