The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and the Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) are the platinum sponsors for the upcoming HOTEC Tradeshow 2026 scheduled to be held in Nadi later this year.
This is Austrade’s third consecutive time as HOTEC’s platinum sponsor.
The Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association said that illustrated a continued support for the strong commercial and reginal links between Australia and Fiji, in particular across food and beverage, hospitality services, equipment, technology, training and other supplier categories that contributed directly to the quality and competitiveness of the tourism industry.
TIQ will also support the partnership through its ongoing work to connect Queensland businesses with opportunities across the Pacific.
FHTA chief executive officer Fantasha Lockington said Austrade’s return as platinum sponsor was a welcome endorsement of HOTEC’s continued value to the tourism and hospitality industry.
“Their continued support reflects the confidence they have in this event as a practical and effective platform for connecting suppliers with the operators, owners and decision-makers who shape Fiji’s tourism product,” Ms Lockington said.
Austrade’s Trade Commissioner to the Pacific Tim Houghton said Fiji’s tourism industry was a “powerhouse”.
“We have some wonderful companies in Australia that can support the industry in its next phase of growth, as more rooms come online and visitors look increasingly for healthy and niche food and beverage options,” Mr Houghton said.
“HOTEC is a fantastic opportunity for us to support Fiji through profiling what Australia has to offer.
“Often the businesses we work with are small, family-run and great at what they do, which aligns really well with the tourism offering here.”
HOTEC 2026 will be held from October 22-23.
