THE case of a 36-year-old man charged for his alleged involvement in a break-in at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks armoury in Nabua has been transferred to the High Court in Suva.

Isaia Ledua made his first appearance before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad in the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday, facing one count each of aggravated burglary and damaging property.

Mr Ledua is alleged to have committed the offences alongside others between April 7 and 9 this year. He is further alleged to have damaged an armoury keypad locker valued at $730.

The police prosecution requested the transfer to the High Court because aggravated burglary is an indictable offence.

Mr Ledua, who has opted to represent himself, was further remanded in custody ahead of his first High Court appearance on June 5.
