The application for the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards (PMIBA) 2026 is now open.

During the launch of the award at the Investment Fiji office in Suva yesterday, Investment Fiji chief executive officer Kamal Chetty said that businesses had three months to apply for the country’s most prestigious business awards through the official website – www.iba.org.fj.

He said that such awards motivated and recognised businesses that contributed to the economy.

“It helped businesses reach new markets because it’s a kind of recognition for their effort in Fiji,” Mr Chetty said.

He said this year’s theme ‘Economic transformation and inclusive growth’ continued to build an economy that was transformative and inclusive in terms of growth.

Mr Chetty said applicants must be a Fiji registered company and a taxpayer, and must apply for one of the general categories, then apply for all the special categories.

He added there was also a new award category added.

The new category, Exporter of the Year Award, recognises an exporter that has excelled in exporting and has contributed to the economy.

He said there was one major award – the Supreme Award, three general categories, 11 special categories and one recognition award with three awardees.

He said the Yasana Excellence Award category from last year had been renamed to Excellence in iTaukei Enterprise Award, which recognised 100 per cent iTaukei owned company that excelled during the year.

The Excellence in Fisheries and Excellence in Forestry Award had been renamed to Excellence in Primary Industries Award, which recognises businesses that excelled in agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries.
