A FORMER police officer who allegedly raped a 26-yea-old woman at the Valelevu Police single men’s barracks has been granted a $1000 non-cash bail by the High Court in Suva.
Kolinio Naturaga appeared before Justice Dane Tuiqereqere on a charge of rape.
State lawyer Simone Seruvatu requested the court to grant 14 days for the filing of information and disclosures.
Mr Seruvatu said the former policeman’s bail application was filed on June 5.
State lawyer Livai Tuivuya had no objection to the sureties provided to the court.
The sureties were bound over in the sum of $1000 non-cash each and reminded of their responsibilities to the court.
On May 30, Nasinu magistrate Charles Ratakele transferred the matter to the High Court.
The State is ordered to file information and disclosures by June 20.
The case has been adjourned to July 4.
