GOSPEL High School and Nasinu Secondary have set up a thrilling Under-15 final clash in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition, following impressive semi-final victories in Lautoka yesterday.
Gospel High edged Lautoka Central 10-6 in a tightly contested first semi-final, showing grit and composure under pressure.
In contrast, Nasinu Secondary delivered a dominant performance in the second semi-final, shutting out RKS Eels 16-0 to stamp their authority and secure their place in the decider.
For Gospel High, the narrow win was a testament to their preparation and execution.
Head coach Isimeli Koroi praised his players’ attacking improvement, which proved crucial in breaking down a determined Lautoka Central side.
“We have played an awesome game. We worked on our attack and the result has shown it,” Koroi said.
With the final now looming, Koroi acknowledged there is little time to celebrate, as focus quickly shifts to preparation.
“Now it’s back to the drawing board and we plan for next week,” he added.
Nasinu Secondary, meanwhile, will head into the final full of confidence after their commanding win. Their defensive effort to keep RKS scoreless highlights a well-balanced side capable of controlling both ends of the field.
The stage is now set for an exciting showdown, with Gospel High’s resilience meeting Nasinu’s dominance.
Both teams will be eager to cap off their campaigns on a high note and claim the U15 title in what promises to be a fiercely contested final.
