POPULAR Indian actress Rakul Preet Singh, who tied the knot with actor/film producer Jackky Bhagnani earlier this year, departed the country on Saturday, following the couple’s honeymoon in Fiji.
The star couple has a combined 26.1 million followers on Instagram and met with Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka before they left Fiji.
Mr Gavoka revealed this while speaking at the Fiji Trade Union Congress (FTUC) 50th Biennial Delegates Conference in Nadi on Saturday.
“As I wear the hat of Tourism Minister, there was this request by my people to meet this young couple from India,” he told the participants.
“They were here on honeymoon, and they are flying out today (Saturday), and we are putting together a program to promote Fiji in India.”
He said the couple loved their time in the country and they are hoping to collaborate with the couple to promote Fiji’s tourism industry in India.
“We met with them to see what they can do to promote Fiji in India.”
