AS families and friends share in the spirit of Christmas tomorrow, also reflect on our past as a nation and set our sights on where we are headed.
As Leader of Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa extends the season’s greetings to all Fijians, she has also called on the masses to commit themselves to making the spirit of Christmas a permanent part of their national life. She said this would help people come to terms with the wrongs of the past.
She said Fiji could not fully chart a course for the future while major injustices remain unresolved.
“As long as those who hold certain positions of national authority and influence put their personal interests ahead of doing what is right by law and stay silent on breaches of power and authority, our journey to attaining transparent and accountable governance will be hard fought,” Ro Teimumu said in her message yesterday.
“We can see the hand of God at work in the milestones we have recently passed.
“As we worship this Christmas, let us thank God for the country He has given us and join together to achieve reconciliation, peace and goodwill in all their fullness for ourselves and our children.”
