There’s a lot on the line for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua women as they count down to their third Super W grand-final.
Just like their inaugural season two years ago, the Drua will face an in-form Waratahs outfit that was undefeated in all five regular rounds.
The Waratahs was also the team that gave the defending champion a rude awakening with a 62- 21 defeat in Lautoka last month.
While the Fijian side was way of the mark in that match, the grand-final serves as a different ball game especially with the title on the line.
“They’ve (Waratahs) been the benchmark for the whole season so, the girls will need all the support they can get, and we are going in with everything to lose,” head coach Mosese Rauluni stated as the team settled in Brisbane.
The final is the only game that counts when the season reaches its peak.
“The grand final is a different story, its whoever turns up. I coached the Reds last year and we were the form team the whole season, the Fijian Drua also struggled last. But came the final the Drua beat us so, its whoever is on song for the 80 minutes,” Rauluni added.
The team left for Brisbane on Wednesday morning and had their first training session in the afternoon.
Their fate of a three-peat will be determined on Sunday at Ballymore Stadium when the match commences at 4pm.
