Tailevu flyer Joanne Vosakiwai took another stride in her blooming rugby career after she was named in the England under-18 squad for the Six Nations.

She is in the 28-member squad set to face rivals from Ireland, Italy, France, Scotland and Wales with fixtures beginning tomorrow.

Earlier this month, Vosakiwai featured for England in their 29-14 win against Ireland.

Vosakiwai made headlines last year after she was called up to join the Roses U18 squad and has since committed herself to training, perfecting her skills along the way.

The 17-year-old, who was born and raised in the United Kingdom, is originally from Nasilai, Nakelo in Tailevu with maternal links to Malhaha in Rotuma.

She comes from a rugby loving family, following in the footsteps of her father Josh Mua Taubale, who came through the Fiji rugby system.

He was part of the Queen Victoria School Deans Trophy winning team in 1996.
