Hindus around Fiji will have to stop their Ram Naumi celebrations from tonight.
“For the rest of Fiji, the following restrictions will take effect for at least the next 14 days to allow people to go about their lives as safely as possible,” said Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in his address to the nation this afternoon.
“No religious services are to be held,” he said.
Ram Naumi is celebrated annually for nine days and tonight would have been the seventh day of prayers.
