Vodafone Fiji affected by COVID-19 and TC Yasa

Tropical cyclone Yasa was an added struggle for Vodafone Fiji last year as it had caused the company damages to the tune of $5 million during a time when consumer spending had reduced because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the acting CEO Ronald Prasad consumer spending in general had reduced, as a result of many losing jobs or working reduced hours.

“There is less disposable income, and this has resulted in overall lower spending,” he said.

“Vodafone as a business is no different and has been impacted by this trend.

The company had noticed a reduction in activity especially in device sales however despite the difficult times they continued to invest to ensure they were ahead of the game.
