OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort received one of the largest nominations at the 2019 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
Resort general manager Darren Shaw said the final nominations were significant in their own way.
“We are very excited and honoured that Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort has been nominated as a finalist in five categories, especially with three categories individually recognising some of our dedicated and talented team members,” he said.
“Each nomination is significant in its own way.
“The nomination in the category ‘Culinary Services to the Industry’, our signature restaurant IVI, is a testament to the entire hospitality team who continue to reach for the ultimate customer service and culinary delights to provide the best possible experience for guests.
“The IVI (restaurant) has been a ‘special occasion’ favourite amongst locals and international guests for 20 years now, however, it was revamped in 2019 with a fresh look and feel and a newly created menu with authentic and flavoursome dishes from our recently appointed executive chef Priya Darnsharni, who also introduced a special ‘tweens’ menu.
“The Specialised Tourism Services and Support to the Industry category has recognised Bebe Spa as a finalist.
“We are very proud of this nomination as we set out to create a calming and balanced space that would highlight the stunning coastline views and our signature treatments executed by highly trained and passionate team members.
“The individual nominations are most special as they recognise the specific dedication these team members have shown towards the company.
“Mr Navneet Reddy is a finalist for the ‘Emerging Tourism Leader’ after winning numerous awards internationally and locally.
The awards have also recognised two of our elder statesmen, ‘Fiji Pride’ Kinijoji Sarai and Russell Blaik for ‘Tourism Leader’ — whose commitment and passion to their roles within the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort team, has had them justifiably acknowledged at this national event.”
He added that they were looking forward to sharing the evening among industry peers and celebrating a well-deserved recognition of all finalists.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Sofitel Resort and Spa this Saturday.
