WITH a total of 1453 confirmed polling venues, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says they are ready for the upcoming general elections.
He made the comment during the forum on electoral processes co-hosted by the International Institute for Democracy and Elections (International IDEA), the Fijian Elections office and the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission (HRADC) held at the Holiday Inn in Suva yesterday.
“The Fijian Elections Office is on standby mode at this point in time and we are waiting for a date for the elections to be announced,” Mr Saneem said.
“We have started for the preparation of the general elections and we are in fact ready for the general elections.”
Mr Saneem said a total of 636,764 individuals had been registered for the 2018 General Elections so far.
