THE Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) says it is working to get water supply normalised to residents in parts of Lautoka.
Customers living in these areas have been experiencing intermittent water supply that WAF due to a defective 300mm high pressure valve on Vuda Reservoir inlet that had affected the flow of water.
According to WAF, this resulted in the drastic decrease of water levels at the Vuda reservoir in the last few weeks.
“Customers in the areas above are advised that this will continue until the new high pressure valve arrives in the country this weekend, with an additional two days to allow installation works and restoring water supply to all affected areas,” WAF said.
Water supply is expected to be restored and by Wednesday December 26, 2018.
The authority has also advised its customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.
