EACH Fiji Day celebration held in Australia has served as a reminder that no stretch of ocean, no national boundary, and no amount of distance can diminish the bonds that bind our global Fijian family.

These were the sentiments of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama during the Fiji Day celebrations held in Sydney, Australia, yesterday.

Mr Bainimarama said our Fijian identity was never defined to where we resided in.

“It is defined by that indescribable feeling we all share when we sing those hallowed words, God Bless Fiji,” he said.

He said our identity was not defined by ethnicity, religion, language, status in life, gender or our physical disability.

“It is defined, above all by our love of our country, our love for one another, and that is why we celebrated Fiji,” he said.
