Update: 12:57PM THE much-anticipated Pacific-inspired Disney animation, Moana, is set for its premier release in Fiji this evening at the Damodar Events Cinemas in Suva.
Fiji also played a role in the production of the Hollywood 3D film with its very own Pasifika Voices providing the soundtrack for the show.
Temuera Morrison, a New Zealand actor that played Moana’s father in the animation, is scheduled to be present at the premier event tonight.
Pasifika Voices choir director Igelese Ete had said that being involved in the production of an international product had proved the heights to which the arts movement in Fiji could reach.
He added this was only the beginning for the choir, with plans already in progress for future works.
Damodar Group of Companies CEO Div Damodar said close to 300 people were expected to attend the movie premier before it was available at cinema outlets around the country from tomorrow.
