Thirty young women and girls from across Fiji were chosen as winners for the Westpac Women and Girls’ Education Grant for three categories; Primary, Secondary and Tertiary.

There are 10 winners from each category and this year, with winners from Labasa, Rakiraki, Ba, Tavua, Lautoka, Nadi and Suva, Westpac said in a statement.

“This demonstrates our longstanding commitment to supporting women and girls in Fiji,” Westpac Fiji chief executive officer Shane Smith said.

“We continue to advocate for positive change and for a more equitable and inclusive society in which everyone can reach their full potential.

“Congratulations to the winners and I’d like to acknowledge and thank the thousands of applicants who sent in their submissions, as well as the teachers and parents who encouraged young learners to apply.”
