Thirty Fijian workers have been selected for another round of employment opportunities under the Australia Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS).
The group will depart on February 11 and 14.
According to the Government, 28 of those workers would be employed with MADEC in Victoria and they will be engaged in fruit picking, packing, and pruning for a nine-month contract under the agriculture industry.
The other two will be employed with Ararat, also in Victoria for a 3-year contract under the meatworks industry.
Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations permanent secretary Osea Cawaru emphasised the importance of teamwork, instilling good values and performing their best during their stay.
“All employers’ preference is to have quality workers, one who is a disciplined individual, honest, dedicated and with a positive attitude at all times,” Mr Cawaru was quoted saying in a Government statement.
“These good qualities will surely make employers recruit more Fijians, creating a positive spin-off to families.”
