Gladness Simpson of MGM High School not only won gold in the intermediate girls 1500m but set a games record of 4min 56.76sec this morning at the HFC Bank stadium in Suva.

The old record was set in 2022 by Alefina Volavola with a time of 5min16.30sec.

Lilieta Buna of Thomas Baker won silver with a time of 5mins 9.25sec while Akeneta Lutu of Lomaivuna settled for bronze.
