A year to remember indeed for Domitila Naita of Adi Cakobau School, who clinched the blue ribbon in the girls’ category with an impressive time of 12.43 seconds.
In a closely contested race, Sereima Rasovasova of Jasper Williams High School took second place with a time of 12.51s, followed by Iva Fifita of Suva Grammar School in third place with a time of 12.62s.
Reflecting on her achievement, Naita expressed her overwhelming honour at bringing this victory to her school.
“The journey leading up to this moment, from rigorous training sessions with fellow athletes to ensuring everything was in top form, has been filled with memorable experiences,” said Naita.
“This win is even more special because it marks my final year, and I know it will be a memory that I will hold dear for years to come.
“I am so grateful for the unwavering support of my ACS family, friends, teachers, and everyone who has been by my side through the ups and downs.
“This victory is as much theirs as it is mine, and I couldn’t have done it without them.
“I also want to express my gratitude to the divine power above for giving me the strength and determination to achieve this milestone.”
