Update: 11:44AM AUSTRALIAN drug mule Joseph Abourizk has been jailed for 14 years and his local counterpart Josese Muriwaqa has also copped a similar sentence.
Lautoka High Court judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe said the duo had little regard for the law of the country and worked to transport a large amount of cocaine, totalling 49.9 kilograms and with a street value of $23million.
He said if the hard drugs had spilled into the local community the consequences would have been dire.
The duo will spend 12 years in jail before being eligible for parole.
