Youths learn laws

YOUTHS in Magodro, Ba were taught the importance of human rights laws, criminal law and Fiji’s Constitution this week.

The objective of the training was to expose the youths to local and international laws and policies that protect their rights.

Held at Bukuya Village, the workshops by the Fiji National University was attended by young people from Magodro and Nadarivatu.

Magodro district representative Josateki Kuribua said the youths also gained some construction work and carpentry experience.

“Through the training they were able to help in rebuilding works within the district,” he said.

“We are very proud of their work because they are able to use their new skills to help their own villages and families.

“The training has been very helpful and our youths were very happy that they were able to gain new skills to benefit not only themselves but their entire community.”
