The first day of competition at the 2024 Tuckers Ice-Cream Fiji Primary Schools Athletics Championships showcased some excited talents at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
The pursuit for victory was rife as athletes ran, leaped and threw for victory in the meet’s opening day, which saw districts field athletes of various ages and sizes from around the country.
Weather conditions for the day were tumultuous, ranging from overcast skies, occasional showers, clear skies, and when competition was finally done for the day, a heavy downpour of rain.
Suva One and Nadi lead the medal tally for the boys and girls categories respectively, with Suva One claiming one gold, one silver and two bronze medals while Nadi won three gold, one silver and one bronze medals on the opening day.
